About the Grant

The 2025 National Carers Week Grants will form part of Carers NSW’s state-wide plan to celebrate and recognise carers during National Carers Week.

National Carers Week will run from Sunday 12 October to Saturday 18 October 2025.

Local carers groups and organisations are invited to apply to use the grant funding to host an activity or event during National Carers Week that provide carers with a range of opportunities to connect with one another, while also learning more about the services and supports available.   

Carers NSW received funding from the NSW Government - Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to administer the National Carer Week Grants program. Applicants can apply for funding between $200 - $500. 

Carers NSW strongly encourages inclusive National Carers Week Grant events and activities. Carers NSW welcomes grant applications from groups or organisations who directly support young carers, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) carers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers and LGBTQIA+ carers.

About Carers NSW

Carers NSW is the peak non-government organisation for carers in NSW, part of the National Carer Network and a member of Carers Australia. Carers NSW works with the other state and territory Carer Organisations. Our focus is on improving the lives of all carers in NSW.

Who are carers? 

Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol, or other drug issues, and or who are frail aged.

Eligibility

Before proceeding, applicants must confirm they meet the following eligibility requirements: 

  • I have read and understood the information outlined in the National Carers Week Grant Guidelines
  • I am applying from or on behalf of a carer support group or organisation.
  • I am aware that National Carers Week Grant activities/events will be run in NSW and any activities/events must be held during, or as close as possible to, National Carers Week (12-18 October 2025).
  • I will ensure that the activity/event will be inclusive and accessible and will be held either online or in-person.
  • I can demonstrate alignment between the activity/event and the objectives of this Grant and the assessment criteria.
  • I will confirm the ABN status of my carer support group / organisation. 

Submission of this application does not guarantee funding will be granted for any activity/event, and Carers NSW reserves the right to accept or reject this application at its own discretion.

Use of Information

By submitting this application form, the carers support group / organisation acknowledges and agrees that:

  • If this application is successful, the relevant details of the proposed National Carers Week activity/event will be made public, that includes the names of the carers support group / application and any partnering organisation, the contact details of the activity/event organiser, the title of the activity/event, the description of the activity/event and the location of the activity/event, to be included in the Carers NSW National Carers Week Grants - Event Calendar and Carers News
  • Information and any images provided by applicants may be used for social media purposes, newsletter and reporting therefore applicants will be required to complete and submit the photo, digital, audio & quote consent form
